Choosing the right size and fabric for your dakimakura really changes the experience: a cover that's too small loses that enveloping feel, and the wrong fabric can be too warm or just not pleasant to the touch. Here's how to make the right choice at CuddleAnime.
Available sizes
All our body pillow covers (dakimakura) come in two sizes:
- 150 x 50 cm — the standard size, and the most popular. It suits the vast majority of users and matches the classic size of original Japanese dakimakura.
- 150 x 60 cm — a wider, more enveloping format, great if you're taller or simply prefer a more generous pillow to cuddle.
If you're unsure, 150 x 50 cm remains the safest choice: it's the reference size used by most manufacturers, and the one most of our customers go with.
Available fabrics
Each size comes in two fabrics, with quite different finishes:
- Peach Skin — a soft, lightweight, silky-to-the-touch fabric, with a crisp high-definition double-sided print. It's our most affordable option, ideal for a first purchase or everyday use.
- 2-Way Tricot — a fabric that stretches both ways, thicker, with a cool, slightly stretchy feel that hugs the shape of the inner pillow better. It's the premium option, more durable over time and closer to the finish of high-end dakimakura.
In short: if you're after the best value for money, go with Peach Skin. If you want the highest-quality finish and the most durable cover, 2-Way Tricot is for you.
The inner pillow (stuffing)
Our dakimakura are sold as covers only: the inner pillow (the stuffing) isn't included, so you can reuse an existing insert or order one sized to match. Check out our inner pillow insert if you don't already have one.

Care instructions
To preserve the print and softness of the fabric, we recommend hand washing or a low-temperature machine wash (30°C max) on a delicate cycle. Avoid the tumble dryer and let it air dry flat, out of direct sunlight.
